the start of the English Premier soccer league.....and what the photo showed

So my husband turned to me last night and he said, "I think it would be fun if we all wore our team shirts tomorrow for the start of the EPL - English Premier League (football in the rest of the world, soccer in North America). Now, I am a huge Arsenal fan, he is a long-time Chelsea supporter, and our youngest son Graham has become a Manchester City supporter (of all things).  So our daughter Holly-Anne who doesn't like footie and doesn't support a team, took the photo:

What I find hilarious is that I didn't even think about the bookshelves behind me, until Pat over at Here, There and Everywhere blog pointed out on Facebook that it was a shame I didn't have anything to read behind me. I burst out laughing!  So you can get a glimpse of some of my shelves behind us.  They are along one wall in the living room, where I will be getting a new chair and a lamp, to set up my reading corner in front of them.  The shelves need tidying, they are double-packed most of them, and have assorted figurines stuck in corners that normally I have space for.

The life of a bookaholic.....always trying to find more space for books.  Seriously, you can never have enough books.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Margaret: The books will cheer me up, you are right :-) They do. They make me happy when my team underperforms! lol Chelsea won today, so my husband is happy. Next up, Man City tomorrow.

Deslily: yes! I always look for books too in photos! lol I loved your comment, it made me laugh :-) you haven't seen all the walls of my house yet, or you would know that we have photos everywhere, of family and of places we love. Kind of like on your shelves... all your lovely photos you have in your home, from your pictures. It's how we feel connected, I think.

Patriciaspage: hi, sis! No, Holly-Anne doesn't like soccer. She does watch Nascar though, Graham's other big love. We all have our favourite drivers now :-) Graham has been growing all summer, he is all legs and arms right now. They are both so tall.

As for the books...they pop up in most of the photos taken in the house, don't they? I love it! :-D Tell Kristen she has to read the Kristen Britain fantasy series I wrote about in Feb, they are really good.

Hi, Susan. Saw your comment on the Genteel Arsenal, and decided to drop in. Fun and thorough site you have here. Have you ever encountered http://kyusireader.blogspot.com ? Young man from the Philippines, book editor, voracious reader. He has a feature called The Bookshelf Project where he posts picture layouts of bookshelves sent in by his readers. You might enjoy it...

Enjoy your soccer!
