Well, there went my plans......every other PBS station in the US must have been showing Mansfield Park tonight, but not ours (from Watertown NY) which was showing an antique auction instead!!! Blech!!! Ok, I love antiques, but not when Mansfield Park should have been shown!!! So my LSS went online and saw that M.P. is on sale in February on dvd (first release) so my review will have to wait. To continue!!
Oh well, will go read more Widdershins, which I am loving so far.

Well, if it helps, the casting of Mansfield Park wasn't nearly as good as in Northanger Abbey - Fanny was distractingly modern, and none of the boys were very swoonworthy.
And I glanced at some responses at TWoP, and there was much consternation over changes from the book, which I have not read. I think I would read it, and hope that the image of Fanny would not stay in my head. Her eyebrows were too dark!
I didn't catch Mansfield Park. I'm tuning in "The Week the Women Went" about a small town in Alberta, and how most of the women left for a week....leaving the men with chores & the kids!!!
Would ya' check out your niece's blog? She's convinced no one is reading her posts and as her auntie, well, you're REQUIRED to! It's http://www.thoughtsfromateenageprincess.blogspot.com/
thanks, love sis P
Thanks Raidergirl3, I feel slightly better for missing it! I really should read the book, though. there is something of Austen's characterizations - her wit - that don't quite translate into movies well.
soon, Mr Darcy....and I caught a little bit of Spooks tonight on BBC Canada, just so I could see the new Wentworth again!!! Still very good-looking!!
Sis - will check out Kristen's blog tomorrow, tell her I didn't know she wanted aunties/family reading it!
Mansfield Park was horrible and nothing like the book, so I wouldn't worry too much. I wish I had missed it.
