...Kailana: oh, I think you will enjoy this one!

Geranium Cat: yes, I think you are right, they are both very steampunk to my knowledge. Voices in the wire, the ironmen (in Stephen Hunt's books), they both are almost gothic to my eyes, but not in the all-black no hope way gothic can be. More in the intense drama and struggle for life, battle of good vs evil. Yes, I really enjoyed these two stories. I think I might like steampunk! lol

What is your Grant application for?Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09095246748581382752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6145452263098688113.post-74474561616013075962011-04-29T11:29:14.491-04:002011-04-29T11:29:14.491-04:00I'm so-o-o glad that you liked it :-) and hope...I'm so-o-o glad that you liked it :-) and hope Cath will too. I'm going to read the next one soon (after my grant application is done, I have to concentrate on that first).

I think both this and Stephen Hunt's books have quite enough steampunk elements to classify them as such - all those tunnels in Madness of Angels, and voices in the wires! And didn't you think that moment with the taps was just amazing!?Jodie Robsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02442935205880334932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6145452263098688113.post-81141772737539444762011-04-29T06:40:50.098-04:002011-04-29T06:40:50.098-04:00Sounds really interesting! I have to get the second one - hoping for my birthday to get it, next month. You're right, you and I and Geranium Cat do share the same tastes in books! Which is why I'm looking for City of Pearls from your first book read for this challenge! lol Plus looking for Carola Dunn, et al. I'm glad to return the favour!!! hee

Kim: I've been afraid, frankly, to go to people's sites for this challenge. I find so many good authors and books, and spend the rest of the year adding to my library and trying to catch up!! lol I am not complaining, there's too much good fantasy out there, it's just scary that I never seem to catch up!! It's fabulous, isn't it?Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09095246748581382752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6145452263098688113.post-53217088608298758622011-04-28T00:05:27.867-04:002011-04-28T00:05:27.867-04:00Once Upon a Time is terrible for my TBR pile. I notice I seem to share both your tastes in books so have made a note of this one and will check the library website in a moment. It sounds amazing. I've just started The Court of the Air by Stephen Hunt and can't decide whether that's steampunk either. I must find a definition for it. Needless to say it was a book Geranium Cat also read. lol.Cathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06371069000185280668noreply@blogger.com
